Losergeek.org.CO, Jakarta – After the solemn ceremony of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day, the State Palace will present several entertainment events at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
“There will be a surprise. There have been music shows before and others after [the ceremony]. Let’s just see [what we will present this year],” I/Jakarta Garrison Commander Arkamelvi Karmani, who supervised the rehearsal for the flag-hoisting ceremony, said at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
Arkamelvi said the musical performance would be held not only after the flag-hoisting ceremony but also after the flag-lowering ceremony in the afternoon. He claimed that the musical entertainment performance will be similar to last year’s celebration.
Apart from the entertainment, Arkamelvi said there would be no difference in the series of flag ceremonies. “There will only be additions [in the form of entertainment shows],” he added.
As many as 76 members of the national flag-hoisting team (Paskibraka) from 38 provinces held a rehearsal at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta today. Arkamelvi also said there would be a parade assisted by a drum band from the TNI-Polri Academy, followed by Horse Troops from the Army Cavalry Horse Detachment. The kings of the archipelago from 38 provinces will also attend the event.
Arkamelvi went on to report that preparations for the flag-raising ceremony had reached 90 percent. At present, his side only needs to determine the Paskibraka commander of the ceremony and the national flag bearer, who will be announced on Thursday, August 16, 2023.
